"My wife Joyce and I booked our trip to New Zealand in August 2019 and Kenrick was most helpful from the start, providing lots of useful information for us as first time visitors to NZ and motor home users. "We booked our New Zealand honeymoon adventure over the Christmas break 2019-2020. We spent a long time doing our research on camper van options for New Zealand, looking at all the bigger companies and what they had to offer; large security deposits, lots of additional extras if you want them, and expensive hire rates (we were travelling at peak times so this was no big surprise). Then we found New Zealand Frontiers... Their website was filled with information about their 2 Berth Deluxe models, with detailed information about the vans features, and costs, and all the additional things included in the hire (sat nav, unlimited kilometers, picnic table and chairs, low excess, and road user charges to name but a few). From the first email our communications with Kenrick were fantastic, and we had no issues whatsoever in organising the hire over the peak period. Upon arriving in Auckland, Kenrick collected us from our hotel before taking us to deal with some paperwork, where we met his family, had a coffee, and received lots of helpful information about travelling in New Zealand. Upon meeting Kenrick we instantly felt at ease and knew we had made the correct decision for this hire. The van was immaculate - it's clear Kenrick really does take great pride in his vans. "We looked at all rental companies and New Zealand Frontiers’ offer stood out as the most honest, without any hidden fees. Especially the insurance seemed reasonable, unlike everywhere else. From the very first e-mail we received back, we knew we were dealing with a dedicated, experienced professional. New Zealand Frontiers owner Kenrick personally picked us up from Auckland airport and dropped us off when we were ready to head back home. Kenrick answered all our questions as well as questions we did not even think to ask – for example he took his time to go through most common road signs and New Zealand specific traffic laws with us. New Zealand Frontiers is much smaller than the other big brands in local campervan rental market, but we believe it’s one of their main strengths. Their fleet is small, but throughout our 3-week trip we had absolutely no issues with the campervan or any of its equipment. Although the vehicle was a few years old, it was as clean as new and the diesel engine ran like new – you could see that Kenrick takes great care of his fleet. It’s perfectly balanced between comfort and size - the bed was surprisingly comfortable. There was plenty of room and storage space inside a vehicle not much longer than a station wagon– low fuel consumption and no problems with parking! We felt like it was made for a couple, we had everything we needed, electricity was never an issue and we’ve never ran out of hot water. Whenever we required assistance, we knew we just had to call Kenrick and we got it immediately, no matter the time of day or day of the week, and always in a very professional manner – it gave us peace of mind, we really felt we are being taken care of. We could not recommend New Zealand Frontiers enough, especially if you are a couple on your first trip to New Zealand – you will definitely not regret it and probably you can’t get a better deal or more professional help anyway. "Travelling New Zealand is a great experience. In particular using a sturdy and compact campervan like the one which we rented from New Zealand Frontiers. Kenrick, the owner of this small family business, offers a great and reliable service to his customers. Also, there are no hidden costs in his contract and a lot of things included like the Ferry to South Island. If you don´t like the impersonal treat of big rental chains then New Zealand Frontiers is the right camper van rental for you. Starting from getting first information and finalizing the rental contract long months before our holiday to returning the van and closing the last contract obligations after our return from our holiday, Kenrick treats everything very professional, fast and accurate; not forgetting the family treat. He cares about everything himself. We did not have any significant trouble during our 4,200 km. The campervan was brought to our hotel in Auckland and we could choose what time we would like to return it; actually, we picked up Peter from Christchurch airport in the evening. Peter, also a very friendly guy, took over the campervan to be returned to Auckland. Having said this, you don´t have to bring back the campervan to a return station. With New Zealand Frontiers everything is handled upon individual arrangements. We loved our little campervan of 5.5 meters length. The van was running perfectly; as mentioned: Very sturdy. "We booked New Zealand Frontiers because of the glowing reviews. Kenrick was indeed personable, very informative and always available fully living up to his reputation. I always think that the measure of a company is not only what they do well, but how they cope when things go wrong. We booked a motorhome for 60 days. We had a few very minor issues at first which Kenrick sorted promptly, even getting mechanics to call at our campsite so as not to interfere with our trip. Late in the holiday we had the nightmare scenario, for both him and us, of the motorhome breaking down in a remote area. We could not fault the service we received. Kenrick promptly arranged for recovery, onward accommodation and even a courtesy car while the repairs were quickly carried out. He even offered to drive down with a replacement motorhome. Kenrick kept us fully informed at all stages as to what was happening and got us back on the road very quickly. We, and the mechanic, put it down to “one of those things” and the mechanic advised us it was certainly not due to lack of maintenance which he said was exemplary. In conclusion we would recommend this company wholeheartedly, for peace of mind and great service. Kenrick will indeed look after you. We would, without hesitation, use New Zealand Frontiers again - which says it all."

"My wife and I hired the two berth deluxe campervan from Kenrick for two weeks in July 2018. We could have stayed for two months (or even more) we had such a good time! The van met our needs perfectly - it was clear to see that a lot of thought had been put into making the van as functional and user friendly as possible. There was a little air conditioner in the van (for powered sites) that heated up the van brilliantly. Even though we went in the middle of winter we were never cold once! There is also a gas heater if you're free camping. The bed was also super comfy - we slept like logs most nights. I found the van very easy to drive and, surprisingly, it had a bit of power to negotiate mountainous country and winding roads as well. The van we hired was manual transmission but Kenrick was looking at expanding his fleet with some automatic transmission vehicles. The GPS that's provided with the vehicle has informative (and sometimes hilarious) commentary regarding the history of New Zealand and Maori folklore. The best part about New Zealand Frontiers is dealing with Kenrick. He is professionalism embodied. He goes the extra mile to provide quality and a personal touch which in my experience is rare nowadays. And the price you are quoted is the price you pay! There are no nasty surprises upon returning the van! Fortunately, we did not do any damage to the van but Kenrick applies a common sense approach if the van is damaged. He is not going to charge you for minute and frivolous things, only when it is warranted. All in all we had a wonderful experience and would 100% recommend to New Zealand Frontiers to anyone."

"We had been looking for ages which campervan company we could sufficiently trust to deliver us a carefree holiday in New Zealand when we stumbled upon Kenrick's New Zealand Frontiers. Boy, are we glad that we did. Kenrick is a great and professional entrepreneur, who takes great pride in and is dedicated to delivering personal travel advice, extremely clean and well-equipped motorhomes as well as an overall pleasant company-customer experience. From the very first communication we had, we felt as if we finally found a (small) company that we could trust and we have not been disappointed. Our rental experience was A+ from beginning until its very end and we had no complaints whatsoever. Kenrick answers all of your questions with great patience, provides tips regarding itineraries and changes ferry bookings upon request. And everything is always done with a fantastic personal touch - you never feel as if something is annoying or you’re a number that needs to be processed. The only hiccup we had is a pebble which caused a hole in our fresh water tank. That issue was handled with equal professionalism, by booking us into a mechanic place in Kaikoura the day after we discovered the hole. We even got a half day refund because we got obviously stuck in Kaikoura when the repairs were being undertaken, knowing that everybody was stuck there anyway because of extreme weather conditions. The interesting conversations about New Zealand society, how it differs from Europe, the All Blacks as well as stops at points of interest in the Auckland area are things you get for free during the drives to/from drop-off on top off the excellent service you do pay for. New Zealand Frontiers is highly recommended. If we ever get the chance to visit New Zealand a second time, we will rent with Kenrick again without even contemplating other companies."

"My wife and I rented a camper van from New Zealand Frontiers for 10 days on our honeymoon. It is a smaller company that I stumbled upon on Rankers and I'm glad I did. The owner, Kenrick Mitchell, went above and beyond what I would expect for a vehicle rental. We were traveling from the U.S. and it was our first time in New Zealand. Prior to the trip, and even prior to booking with the company, Kenrick was extremely helpful (over email) answering various questions about the rental, the country, and possible itineraries. Kenrick is fully transparent with his pricing. What he quotes you is what you pay. There are no hidden fees. We could tell Kenrick takes great pride in ensuring his customers have a positive experience. The vehicle had no issues and was spotless. He delivered the vehicle to our hotel and gave us a full walk through of the camper van and its features. The vehicle was as advertised and came with a GPS. He also provided maps which proved useful. We didn't need to contact him, but felt good to know we had 24 hour road side assistance if needed. We felt so comfortable with Kenrick that we almost listed him as our emergency contact while in New Zealand which says something. Upon return of the vehicle, it was fun to catch up with Kenrick and we even received a follow up email asking how the remainder of our trip was. Overall, there's really nothing more he could have done to improve the great experience we had. One FYI, it may clearly say so on the website, but please note his vehicles are manual transmission."

"We have just returned from our New Zealand holiday, the first 11 days of which were in a campervan from New Zealand Frontiers, and can only describe the total experience as a 10/10. Would really like to give it eleven but there was no button for that! After reading some reviews of rental companies we decided to go with Kenrick's company due to the overwhelming number of positive reviews, and mentions of personal service and attention to details, and have to say we totally agree. The Ford Transit vehicle was ideal for our purpose, being just large enough to be comfortable and spacious enough for two people without being so large that parking in a regular car-sized spot would not be possible. The interior was all spotlessly clean on delivery and everything worked as it should. Changing the layout from bench seating and dining table to the large double bed setup took a few short minutes, and when the weather was suitable, the outside chairs and table provided were a great place to sit back and take in the amazing New Zealand scenery. The Kruse GPS commentary was a highlight as well, giving valuable information along the way, with suggestions of things to see and do just as you approach towns and areas of interest, as well as interesting snippets on New Zealand history and wildlife. So much so that it was our only audio we used. But the most impressive part of the whole experience was, as so many others have reported, Kenrick's personal, friendly service. Right from the initial booking process the experience was so different to dealing with a large multinational. The van was delivered to our airport hotel the morning after our arrival and we were given a full run-down on the features and processes involved with its operation. After this we drove Kenrick back to his house and continued on our way. After 2300 km of traveling the North Island, we returned the van to Kenrick, and he drove us to our Auckland hotel, with a stop along the way at One Tree Hill lookout. All in all, a great way to see a great country."

"We had a six week tour of New Zealand with a van from New Zealand Frontiers and cannot recommend highly enough for a top rate personal service. We were met from our early flight and given a thorough tour of the van and its operation before setting off all with a nice cup of tea and biscuits as an added bonus! Kenrick was happy for us to call with any queries or problems we came across while touring and provided some really good tips for routes and places to visit, this provided a useful safety net for our trip. The transit campervan we had was a perfect size for the two of us and equipped with everything we needed, 6 weeks and 5000 miles just disappeared so easily. The van was very easy to drive, it was not too wide like some others we had seen and felt more like a car on the road. We stayed mainly in DOC or free sites and only needed to stay in pay sites when we wanted to use the washing machine. We booked our ferry to the South Island via New Zealand Frontiers as this was totally flexible and a reduced rate, we changed dates easily with a quick phone call when we realised we needed a few more days on the North Island. The Kruse satnav provided gave a commentary with info on places of interest along our route and local history and folklore, we took some of the recommended detours and were rewarded with some lovely scenery and spots to visit. Using a smaller company we feel we gained first class personal service and attention to detail, nothing was too much trouble and provided us with a trouble free holiday experience."

We rented our campervan for 3.5 weeks. Starting in Auckland (where we were fetched by Kenrick at our hostel) we explored the northern island. After 10 days we took the ferry from Wellington to Picton - thank you Kenrick for the uncomplicated booking-adjustments one day in advance! We spent the rest of our time in New Zealand travelling the southern island, arriving in Christchurch where Kenrick met us at the airport and picked up the campervan. We had a super comfortable time in our "Fronti". Actually we slept much better in there than in our last stay with a "real" bed. There was everything we needed (and more) - lots of kitchen utensils, cutlery and dishes, towels an linen, chairs and a table, cleaning supplies, DVDs and much more (we really loved the fun Kruse travel guide - that way we learned so much about New Zealand!). Everything was clean and in great shape. When we had a problem, Kenrick was always available and helpful. Camping in New Zealand with New Zealand Frontiers was awesome. Thanks Kenrick!

Kenrick, owner of New Zealand Frontiers, gave us a thorough introduction to the van after delivering it to our hotel in Auckland. The contact prior to pick up and through the rental period was easy and pleasant. Kenrick even gave us a brief overview on Wellington and showed us around at Mt Victoria after drop-off. We could actually feel prior to and during the rental period that New Zealand Frontiers is a business operated by its owner who cares about the vans and his customers. The van was in an excellent condition and everything worked well. The size of the van is perfect for two people, enough storage room and good for driving and parking. The price quoted literally included everything, in particularly access to toll roads and the Kruse GPS navigation system (incl. commentary on the history of and POIs of the region currently driving though). No extra costs. If you have the chance to get a van from New Zealand Frontiers, we recommend that you don't even consider another company."

We went with New Zealand Frontiers based on other reviews we found on the internet. There were "Cheaper" companies around but as was pointed out in other reviews there were no hidden extras in the prices we were given. I have to say the van was the cleanest rental I have ever seen. Everything worked and worked well. The transit is a good size, with plenty of space but not so big that parking and driving it are any problem. Kenrick picked us up from the hotel in Auckland and went over the workings of the van (cooker, shower, toilet etc.) The Kruse sat nav had a great feature in that it would give commentary when passing though areas of interest. Kenrick arranged the ferry tickets to and from the South Island and basically made everything relaxed and easy. The vehicle itself was very well maintained and ran flawlessly during the three weeks we had it (good ole EEA360). When we go again I will not be going anywhere else for the van.

"After considerable research we booked New Zealand Frontiers for an 18 day trip of the North and South Islands in March. The booking process was very straightforward. "This was a holiday of a lifetime for us . We recently toured New Zealand for 51 days without a hitch. We are so grateful to Kenrick who provided us with a superbly reliable clean comfortable camper van. Kenrick met us at the airport and we were inducted into the use and the equipment on board. The van behaved impeccably. We managed 6136 km. And sadly had to leave the van at the airport. These Ford vans are exceptional as they are easy to drive and park, and will squeeze by opposing traffic comfortably; we travelled on many side roads and gravel tracks to get to our bush walks, without worry. Kenrick provides an excellent reliable honest personal service. (My wife asked me at the end of our trip "How did you find such an excellent person?" I replied... (I read very, very, carefully various forums such as Rankers and TripAdvisor) The van was equipped with a propex heater (used twice in South Island), a microwave, shower/loo, hob etc., tv/dvd (never used... too tired), and the best sauté pan in the whole world. We can heartily recommend New Zealand Frontiers, and we are already planning a return trip."

"We were very happy calling our New Zealand Frontiers campervan home during our journey in New Zealand. Everything went smoothly over three weeks when we traveled over 5,000 km covering the North and South Islands. The campervan was well equipped. It had everything we needed for comfort at fully supported holiday parks and for freedom camping. Everything was tidy and worked without a hitch once we got rolling. Kenrick, the owner, was very helpful in planning our trip and during our time in New Zealand. Contacting him with the toll free number was the fastest while we were in New Zealand. Kenrick always got back to us promptly with answers to our questions and useful information. Kenrick greeted us at the airport upon our arrival. He gave us a thorough review of the campervan and tips on driving in New Zealand. It took some effort to get used to the roundabouts. Overall, the campervan was easy to drive and had a lot more storage space than we thought. After driving over 5,000 km, we appreciated using diesel instead of petrol. Before handing over the keys, Kenrick noticed that the batteries were not holding charge as expected. He promptly took us to the repair shop and got the batteries checked and replaced before we started our trip. We kept an eye on the battery monitor since they would be used to power our lights and water while freedom camping. Radio reception was not good for much of the trip. We listened to the Best of New Zealand feature on the GPS that came with the campervan. It automatically described different areas of New Zealand as we drove through them. Otherwise, bring your own music for the drive and DVDs to watch in the evenings. The Rankers website was very helpful in helping us identify holiday parks and freedom camping sites. It made it easy for find dump sites when we did not have access to facilities at holiday parks. We will contact New Zealand Frontiers again the next time we visit New Zealand. It is a small company with personalized service and well thought out vehicles."

"My wife and I have just returned from a 25 day/3000 mile trip in a New Zealand Frontiers campervan. I have previously hired campervans in Australia from the big name companies, but the experience of hiring one from a small, efficient and customer-aware company such as New Zealand frontiers was a very much better experience in every way. Firstly the booking dialogue beforehand with Kenrick, the company owner, then being picked up from our hotel in Auckland (and returned at the end of the trip to the airport), and then the actual experience of the van. The van was beautifully prepared and completely clean, and as a vehicle was perfect for New Zealand's roads and very comfortable. We had both cold and hot weather, and the van is equipped to deal well with both. Kenrick made sure we understood how the van worked, so we were not cast loose without fully understanding what to do as often happens with other companies. What was exceptional though was the degree to which you could trust Kenrick to have thought of everything, which he had, and to know that if something had gone wrong it would have been sorted out (it didn't, but it was good to know Kenrick was a phone call away). Kenrick had also removed the need for any extra expenses, the only thing we had to pay for was the diesel. It was also a pleasure to meet and talk with Kenrick. Despite the length of our journey we would like to return and if we do we will be using New Zealand frontiers again. I really cannot think of anything that could have been done better by Kenrick's company."

"My husband and I chose New Zealand for our honeymoon trip as it was the furthest and most exotic place to us from home (Paris). We spent two weeks going over many different websites looking for the camping van which would be our home for three weeks. We chose New Zealand Frontiers over others because of its rankings and great reviews and what it seemed to promise. We were on a budget but it being our honeymoon we also didn't want to do away with simple luxuries such as a toilet and shower inside the camping van. We also liked knowing that there wasn't any hidden fees and no hidden forbidden routes as we wanted to roam the country as we pleased. I am happy to say that we totally do not regret our choice! Right from the start Kenrick was with us with our travel planning and even helped us book the ferry from Wellington to Picton. This was our first experience with a camping van and we were thrilled with all the amenities onboard (even an ironing board!) and couldn't believe how comfortably we slept. Not three hours after we started our trip, we got into a small car accident whereby we broke a side mirror (highly recommend daily car insurance for a worry-free trip!). Kenrick came to our rescue and was able to order replacement part quickly and find us a garage that fit our itinerary so that we didn't have to change one part of our trip. We also called him up for a restaurant recommendation in Wellington as we wanted to celebrate our honeymoon and he gladly did so, providing us with several restaurant names. We slept in many camping sites and always felt proud of our camping van next to the others! It truly was a home away from home! All in all, this trip is one we won't forget in a long long time and we hope to visit it again with New Zealand Frontiers with the children next time. Until then!"

"We rented a campervan from New Zealand Frontiers for two weeks in early December and had an excellent experience driving from Queenstown to Auckland. Much of that experience would not have been possible without Kenrick, his attention to detail and his excellent service. He met us at Queenstown airport and as this was our very first campervan experience, he very patiently went through every aspect of a campervan holiday: the equipment available on board, effluent disposal, the rules of freedom camping and the rules of the road. As we didn't usually drive on manual transmission on vehicles this large, he accompanied us as we took a short drive around Queenstown to ensure that we were alright driving the van. Our ferry booking from Picton to Wellington was also handled by Kenrick and when we needed to bring forward the ferry booking or when we needed advice on the campervan, he was only a phone call away and answers promptly. The van was clean, well-maintained and well-equipped with all that we needed for our trip: all the necessary utensils, a stove, refrigerator, microwave, TV/DVD player (and three DVDs) and a GPS with great commentaries. There was one day on which we experienced problems with the indicators on the dashboard. Kenrick was just a phone call away and monitored the situation and based on the symptoms, assured us that the indicators were false positives. As it turned out, he was right; the problem did not occur again for the rest of the trip and we arrived safely at all our intended locations. What we appreciated was that New Zealand Frontiers' quotation had no hidden costs and that terms and conditions of the rental was spelt out very clearly in the contract, which Kenrick went through in sufficient detail with us at the beginning of our trip. Kenrick has a wealth of experience in what he does and this was very reassuring to us. We enjoyed our campervan experience thoroughly and would like to commend Kenrick on the great work done."

"Six months before taking my trip to New Zealand, I started researching camper vans. After looking at a bunch, New Zealand Frontiers stood out as the major front runner. Right from the start my experience with Kenrick was amazing, he was very prompt in returning emails and answered all my questions and was very informative. The day after arriving in Auckland, Kenrick came to our hotel and gave us a thorough over view of the van. Right from the start we fell in love with this camper van. By the end of the trip we were sorry to part from it. It was the perfect van. It was roomy enough for the two of us. It was very comfortable and had all the conveniences we needed. I also like that it was big enough to be comfortable in but it wasn't a huge van to drive. I felt comfortable and confident driving it in all weather conditions. I loved that it was self-contained and also had the ability to plug into camp ground power. It truly became are home away from home. Throughout the trip Kenrick was available if we had any questions which I think is a huge benefit and big in customer care. I can't rave enough about our whole experience. "My wife and I made a trip down to New Zealand this August and did a great deal of research on camper van rentals. After seeing the overwhelming number of positive reviews on New Zealand Frontiers, I contacted Kenrick and was immediately impressed. From the preliminary planning stages of our trip, Kenrick was helpful in planning our 11 day vacation. As promised, Kenrick was waiting to pick us up with our van. From there, a quick trip with great conversation was made to his house. Our check-in process was efficient and thorough, with all van features demonstrated and our questions answered. We generally try to reserve lodging, etc., with smaller businesses and New Zealand Frontiers exemplifies the reasons why. The personal approach Kenrick uses was truly a joy. Instead of feeling like a 'pick a number', stand-in-line, cold and impersonal, nobody-really-cares-about-you customer, we were treated to a great personable guy who passionately runs his business from home. Prior to our departure from his cosy house, we were even treated with bags of citrus from his trees for the trip! The van was very thoughtfully put together with many extras, including heavier bedding for our winter trip, cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies and a great GPS system. Even on chilly and windy winter nights we were warm and toasty tucked into the queen-sized bed. It was great having our 'house' right there with us after a ski day, nice and warm, stocked with food and beer. The diesel van was perfect for racking up tons of kilometres inexpensively. The entire trip was seamless and we'll be back in the future! We can't recommend Kenrick and New Zealand Frontiers enough! Our six week holiday was to be a holiday of a life time but we fell in love with the whole experience so much that we are already thinking of returning sooner rather than later!!!! Kenrick's customer service was first rate throughout - right from the emails and communication beforehand, through a detailed and thorough explanation of every inch of the van and the paperwork, and some excellent tips of places to visit on our holiday (even some suggestions for after our rental had finished!). We were picked up from our hotel in Auckland, and given a mini tour of Wellington when he came to collect the van from us there. When we did have a problem, Kenrick put us at ease, got it sorted that afternoon and we were on our way the next morning as planned. The van was comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything from extra blankets to picnic chairs - everything we needed and more. We wanted peace of mind, that, 1) we would be given great customer service, from start to finish; and, 2) assuming that we were responsible drivers/caretakers of the van, that our insurance bond would include coverage for any damage to any part of the vehicle (glass surfaces, top of vehicle, bottom of vehicle, all interior, all exterior and that's what we got). "We had a three week holiday in New Zealand in April this year in a motorhome hired from New Zealand Frontiers. We would recommend this company 100%. The owner Kenrick made the whole holiday so worth-while. From the moment we started making arrangements for the holiday he kept in touch with us very promptly with any information we required. On arrival in New Zealand he met us at the airport and made us very welcome. We then travelled to his house to start the handover of the motorhome. This was done very with great care as not miss anything we should need to know. The van was presented clean and well equipped for a comfortable holiday. After the handover was completed we sat in his conservatory and completed the paper work with a refreshing drink of fruit juice. We left his house feeling we had made a good choice of hirer. The whole three weeks holiday was superb, we had no problems with the van. The GPS system with the en route commentary is a great idea. Just spent three weeks covering over 4,000 miles on both islands. Van immaculate and in great condition. Septuagenarian husband had no problem driving or taking care of regular maintenance. Morning coffee on board was a joy and I managed to cook about half of our meals. "We're a bit late on this but wanted to add our voice to all the positive reviews here. We rented a van for 25 days over Dec-Jan. The website was very detailed and informative and we liked that all the costs were up front. Kenrick was fantastic and we'd happily use him again for camper van rentals. He answered all our questions before booking, made lots of great suggestions when we hit the road and was a pleasure to deal with. The van was awesome. Spotlessly clean, easy to drive and very comfortable to live in. My wife was five months pregnant and had no issues at all. Great queen size bed. Lots of smart storage. The GPS with audio commentary was surprisingly fun to listen to. Out of 25 days in the van we freedom camped about 15, farm stayed five days and paid for DOC sites the other five. We found that the Camper Mate app was the best for locating camping sites, dump stations, driving directions etc. More up to date than the Rankers app. OK 2 Stay is a great farm stay program especially for self-contained vans like Kenrick’s. All the positive reviews here don’t lie! Kenrick is the guy."

"For a complete camper van experience, New Zealand Frontiers was absolutely perfect for us. As a small operator Kenrick Mitchell is able to provide a very personal service, friendly, efficient and always with a gentle sense of humour. The van we had, a Ford Transit, was well maintained, immaculately clean and well equipped. It was a dream to drive and for the two of us it was the ideal size - big enough to live in when you had to escape the weather or sand flies, but small enough to squeeze into parking places. The two real bonus points on the van were the solar panels, which drove the fridge, and the 20 litre hot water tank heated from the engine cooling system. "From the first email you'll send to the departing conversations of your trip Kenrick is an absolute professional. Fast responses by email before, and available by phone 24-7 while there, whether it be route information or a flat tire, any questions or concerns are quickly resolved. For $50 NZD you can get a pre-loaded SIM card from Vodafone etc. which we highly recommend. The campervan itself is a good mix of size vs agility, power vs comfort. It will surprise yourself and the drivers around you how it can keep pace with the traffic around you and yet be incredibly good on fuel. The roads in New Zealand can be quite twisted and the Ford Transit can handle them all quite easily. Kenrick is the owner/operator and his fleet is small, and that’s good news for you because he’s able to keep standards at an extremely high rate, the vans are kept meticulously clean and maintained and you will get compliments from people walking by. You're shopping around right now and you're looking at prices and noticing these are a little bit higher, but those prices are lies, there are additional charges looming over you and you won’t be sure until you hand in the keys. With Frontiers, the price is the price and there are way less restrictions on roads, drivers etc. Trust me just stop looking. Go do something productive. Plus those bright colours look ridiculous and you know it. This was a honeymoon trip for us and one we won’t ever forget. I’d give it an 11 if I could."

Minor issues were dealt with promptly and it was reassuring to have Kenrick's personal attention at all times. Although it was January school holidays we had no problem in finding camp spots and there were plenty of options from full blown holiday parks (which we tended to avoid) to smaller style motor home parks to DOC sites. "We had a great holiday lasting about six weeks on both North and South Island using a motorhome from New Zealand Frontiers. Right from the first enquiry to finalising the booking Kenrick was extremely helpful, always replying promptly to any emails. One had the feeling that one was dealing with an individual and not a large faceless company. The motorhome was delivered on time to our central Auckland hotel in immaculate clean condition and Kenrick gave us a very thorough briefing on how everything worked, not complicated but good to have it all well explained in what was to be our home for six weeks. He also gave us comprehensive advice on New Zealand road use, camp sites etc. We noted he had even remembered our request for extra pillows which we had made several months before! The van was well equipped and Kenrick kindly stored our suit cases and some excess items so our storage space was not too compromised. A word of advice to travelers regarding packing, less is really best, most camp sites had very good laundry facilities so large amounts of clothes are not needed! The van drove very well, not much different to a car but with much better view due to the height, steep winding mountain passes (of which there were many) did not seem to bother her unlike many of the much more cumbersome motor homes which are common. As we experienced a few very cold nights, particularly on south island, the gas heater was very efficient and welcome when freedom camping without mains power connected. On mains power the aircon/heater was also very efficient. We would recommend travelers intersperse a certain amount of freedom camping with staying at organised sites, it was wonderful to be able to open the rear doors (something which did not feature on many of the big motorhomes) and enjoy stunning views of scenes such as Mount Cook or beautiful lakes, waterfalls and beaches. Kenrick's vehicles carry the motto on their paintwork "vacations in paradise" - have to agree completely!"

"What an incredible journey, BEST VACATION EVER! 27 days touring New Zealand in a 2 Berth Deluxe campervan traveling 6,107 km. over all kinds of terrain effortlessly. The experience exceeded our every expectation. Price was fully inclusive with no hidden add ons as it included all the extras that others charge extra. Info was detailed and thorough as was his orientation to the van, its features and the inclusive tour books and DVD's. The van was meticulous. Kenrick has it all - a detailed and accurate website, self-contained vans that run like clockwork that have every conceivable amenity that will make your trip spectacular and a concern for his clients that they have the best possible experience. . It was evident that he wanted our experience to be the best possible. Kenrick was easily reached by phone when we had concerns about the van or whatever and he was extremely helpful in all situations. I even purchased a jacket that I needed to exchange after arriving home in the US. The company would not ship out of the country and Kenrick was kind enough to allow me to have it shipped to his address and he forwarded it to me at his expense. Storage in the campervan is at a minimum so I would ask Kenrick in the future to keep the picnic table and the wooden hangers as I found stacking the clothing in that area was the best use of the space. We did use the included folding chairs on a few occasions as it was lovely to pull off along the Pacific Ocean, Tasman Sea, or one of the numerous lakes or streams and cook on the gas burners when it was meal time. I would definitely use Kenrick again and recommend him to family and friends. He maintains his equipment in top notch condition and takes pride in his service. My husband could not get over how clean the engine was and everything is quite functional and well thought out in detail."

"Our experience with New Zealand Frontiers and the company owner, Kenrick, could not have been better. The website is clear and informative and offers practical advice on all aspects of planning a campervan trip in New Zealand. Initial e-mail queries were dealt with quickly and in detail. Booking was simple, and as explained in the website, there have been no hidden extras. The hire cost covers unlimited mileage on all roads (ie: you cannot drive on the beach, but unsealed roads are covered by the insurance). The van is ideal - a comfortable living space for two, well equipped and immaculately prepared. It very quickly became home for 18 days, and was a reliable vehicle for our extensive tour of North Island. Kenrick himself is fantastic: he is extremely knowledgeable about his home country, and keen to pass on this knowledge; he gave us a trip up Mt Eden in Auckland when he picked us up, he provides a range of maps and guide books, and the van is equipped with the Kruse guided commentary on the satnav, which we found very interesting but not intrusive. Coffee at his home at the start and end of our trip made us feel like friends rather than customers, and Kenrick showed great interest in our travels, as well as checking on any suggestions we might have for improving the experience he offers. "This was our first campervan experience and we were a bit uncertain about how it would turn out. We rented it for a 24-day trip and we are so glad we chose New Zealand Frontiers. Kenrick Mitchell provides an excellent service. He taught us patiently at his place how every detail of the vehicle works (which is easy, in case you are hesitating!). The campervan was extremely clean and perfectly equipped. Kenrick was at the other side of the phone and eager to answering our e-mails every time we needed something from him. "We had a camper from Kenrick at New Zealand Frontiers for 12 days in February. The trip was amazing and this was very much facilitated by the campervan which was perfect throughout. From the narrated GPS which gave us interesting facts and stories as we entered different areas of the North Island to the professional service received from Kenrick. The owner Kenrick was very helpful before during and after our trip, he helped advise on the best routes and places to see as we tried to fit in as much as possible while there, he did this before we got there and then helped further when we picked the camper up. When picking the camper up he even took us to Mt Eden to show us the view and allow us to take some photos giving up some of his day to save us a return trip later in the day. A minor problem with a sat nav was dealt with immediately with a replacement delivered personally the same day. The great service extended to forgotten items being shipped to the UK free of charge. This was our first trip to New Zealand and we didn't know what to expect from a camper van. Kenrick (the owner) spent time at the start of our holiday running through everything we needed to know, making our first few hours of travelling worry free! The onboard sat nav had a really useful spoken guide that gave information, history and stories about the areas being travelled through (you can switch this off if you don't like it). "My wife and I rented a motorhome from New Zealand Frontiers last October for two weeks to travel around some of the North Island. Last time we hired a motorhome we had some problems and the company we rented it from were extremely difficult to deal with so I was a little reluctant this time and immediately went looking for reviews and somehow I stumbled onto Rankers.com and was really glad as the reviews were most helpful. 1) Why did I choose New Zealand Frontiers? – I chose New Zealand Frontiers purely based on the excellent ratings in Rankers. The score was 98/100 and it was (still is) the top rated rental company. When I read through the reviews I was surprised by the consistently high ratings and struggled to find any negative comments. I am please to say all the comments are reflective of the experience with New Zealand Frontiers -They are all really good. 2) What about the van? –First of all I want to affirm what others have said, the van was in immaculate condition, when I looked at the speedometer I couldn’t believe how many kilometres it had done as everything looked so new. It was comfortable to drive and sit in everything you need is supplied. The bed making was a challenge but you soon got into a routine. Tip: Don’t let your wife (or yourself) take too many clothes. There is limited storage space. 3) What about problems? – actually we had no problems with the motorhome or New Zealand Frontiers. Kenrick is easy to deal with and with the zero excess insurance option everything was covered. 4) Overall Experience? – as you can see from my rating of 10/10 it was a positive experience. I had nothing to complain about and everything went extremely well from the first contact to the return of the vehicle. New Zealand Frontiers is a small company, especially compared to some of the other operators who all seemed to be owned by the one company. 5) Would I recommend? – Yes, I don’t think you can go wrong as long as the van type available meets your requirements. I am sure we will be back to see the parts we missed this time."

"We have just arrived home from 3+ weeks on the North Island using one of Kenrick Mitchell's super Ford Transit vans. The experience started with Kenrick collecting us from our hotel at Auckland Airport bang on time and taking us back to his base to introduce us to our van and show us all her workings. The van was absolutely spotless and beautifully presented. All the fittings were of very high quality and the bedding and towels were absolutely top notch. We then went in for a cup of tea and a very thorough and friendly explanation of the agreement and then off we went. Throughout our travels we used the complimentary sat nav which has a very informative commentary about the history and points of interest of places we were passing through. The sat nav was essential to find many of the camp sites and we wouldn't have found them without that. We also had a very good complimentary road atlas which was great for planning where we were going the next day. The van never missed a beat and was pretty economical on fuel as well. When we returned the van to Kenrick, the debrief was done over another cup of tea and in a very friendly fashion and then he delivered us back to the airport and went and found us a trolley for our luggage to boot! We had a lovely time in New Zealand and will tell anyone who asks to seriously think about giving one of these vans a go as the service and presentation provided by Kenrick is exceptional."

I contacted Kenrick and he went out of his way to arrange a vehicle for the following week. I was short of time, having only 14 days before I had to fly back to the UK, so required a one-way booking. Kenrick arranged the Cook Strait ferry and even suggested some routes to make the most of my travels. The van itself was very well equipped, clean, economical and comfortable. The experience helped made my holiday a trip of a lifetime - one which I will be sure to repeat in the future."

At the beginning of our trip, due to our own stupidity we needed a replacement key, and Kenrick got a replacement to us in hours (for a very reasonable fee) so our trip could go on without any delays. He was always available for any questions, and the wonderful communication before the trip continued during our travels. There are no hidden charges to worry about either! "We hired our van from New Zealand Frontiers and took the van on both islands covering 5400km. It was well kitted out with everything you might need for your trip, including wine glasses, dish liquid, paper towels, toilet paper, even some plastic containers. In hindsight, we should have foregone taking the included picnic table & chairs as we did not use them and they just took up space. Probably good to have if you were planning to “free-camp”, but we only stayed in caravan parks. The van measured 5.5m in length which was a good size – could park in city car parks and shopping centres but big enough for comfort for two people. It was small enough to manoeuvre the tight windy roads and mountainsides (often with no guardrails). We had no problem with the van, except for a loose water cap that came off while we were driving (apparently we missed that it was lockable). In any case, Kenrick had a spare and did not charge us for replacement. All in all the customer service was spot on. Kenrick knows what tourist campers want/need and provides it. It was a quality vehicle with quality customer support."

"My wife and I rented a Motorhome from New Zealand Frontiers for three and a half weeks to circumnavigate both Islands. Kenrick Mitchell arranged shuttle bus pick-up from our accommodation in Auckland CBD to his establishment to pick up the Motorhome and return shuttle to Auckland International Airport upon our return. Kenrick was extremely friendly and went over the Motorhome with us meticulously to ensure that we understood the workings of the vehicle. The Motorhome exceeded our expectations and included everything you could possibly want whilst on the road and to be self sufficient. The vehicle was comfortable for 2 people, had a very comfortable bed and drove and handled very car like and was quite fuel efficient. It never missed a beat. "We hired a van from New Zealand Frontiers and drove some 5700 km in a month. In every contact with the company Kenrick totally exceeded expectations for service and hospitality. The attention to detail in the van and the service we received was beyond incredible and the van has everything you could possibly expect. The van was beautifully presented, immaculately clean and very comfortable indeed. Whenever we had questions or comments we used the freephone number and Kenrick was available 24/7 to give expert advice and help. At campsites etc we had a snoop around and look at the other rental vans, none of which seemed to be presented or maintained to the same high standard of ours. The van had been wonderfully maintained and ran very smoothly. The van was competitively priced and economical on fuel, especially given that a lot of other companies end up charging money at the end of the rental on top of the quoted price before. The best bits about New Zealand Frontiers are the freebies (Kruse guide, GPS, unlimited miles etc), the beautiful state of the vans, the phenomenal customer service and the peace of mind that everything has already been thought of and taken care of! "My wife and I had always wanted to tour New Zealand, but it was daunting once we had decided that a campervan was the best option, because we had never done that before. Furthermore, which company should we go for? We did not choose New Zealand Frontiers because it was the cheapest, especially if you wanted to start in Auckland and end in Christchurch. What drew us to New Zealand Frontiers, however, was the friendly, but efficient, attentive and no nonsense communications of, and with, its proprietor, Kenrick Mitchell. These removed any concerns, real or imaginary, and convinced us that we would be in safe hands. Neither the country nor New Zealand Frontiers disappointed us during our trouble free three weeks touring. We were picked up from our Auckland hotel and given a thorough introduction to our vehicle, as well as very helpful tips about routes, sights and where to stay etc. We did 4391kms, and experienced no problems with the van. Indeed, I was pleasantly surprised at the sprightliness and acceleration of the 6 speed diesel engine. Both the driving position and the spacious bed are comfortable. The van was delivered to us spotlessly clean, is cleverly designed and well equipped, although we chose to use the cooking, washing, showering and toilet facilities of the camp sites, rather than those of our mobile home. It's hard to think of any grievances: the windscreen demister is inefficient; the fridge occasionally burst open on very bendy roads if it was full of heavy milk and water bottles! The ingenious GPS based Kruse commentary on NZ is very informative and interesting, although if you use it regularly, you too may be driven to distraction by hearing the same Maori myth for the 4th time! At the end of our adventure, Kenrick was just as attentive and hospitable as at the outset, and true to his advertising, we have not been hit by extra charges - at least not yet! We would love to return to NZ, and if we did, I can see no reason why we wouldn't go with New Zealand Frontiers once more."

Though confident in our decision, the outcome of our New Zealand experience far exceeded our hopes and dreams! Kenrick's company is exactly as described and his attention to every detail and professionalism was evident throughout our experience. He has been forthright and fun to deal with and communications have always been prompt and thorough. The campervan was immaculate, perfectly equipped for two people, performed excellently and was very comfortable for travelling, driving and sleeping. Notable is that this van came equipped with items that most other companies charge extra for per day. The Kruse and Navman systems were very helpful and enjoyable, as were the other resources and maps that were included. Kenrick picked us up on a Sunday morning from our downtown Auckland hotel. He took us on a beautiful tour of the city and up Mt. Eden. We received a complete introduction to the van and driving guidance until we were reasonably comfortable with the vehicle and driving on the left. We had a fantastic 4783 km of New Zealand adventures, all the while knowing that Kenrick was available should we need assistance or have a question. "SUMMARY: Can definitely recommend New Zealand Frontiers: Personal, high quality customer service; vehicles in good shape; many extras you won't get from the big rental companies. DETAIL: We found Kenrick and New Zealand Frontiers on Rankers and after a call, some emails and the friendly and very professional manner with which all our inquiries were handled we felt confident to go ahead and book with him. We were picked up personally by Kenrick from our hotel in Auckland and given a comprehensive intro to everything we needed to know about our home on four wheels: the directions were very clear, the info material exhaustive (road maps, tourist info, navigational system and even some movies, which we could have, but didn't watch on the integrated TV/DVD), the van was super clean and equipped with everything you need on your trip (camping chairs + table, various kitchen utensils, etc....). The van, a Ford Transit, is a perfect size for two people, the bed comfortable, the fridge big enough to stock up for several days - even after 23 days we could have gone on for several more weeks without problems :-) Handling the van was easy (dumping, filling up water, etc.), the only thing we couldn't figure out at first was the gas heater. We also hardly used up any gas even though we made coffee and cooked quite a bit. Thanks to solar panels, the fridge kept things cool at all times. The warm water was still warm enough for doing dishes, etc. the next morning. All in all, our vacation exceeded our expectations. At every step along the way, Kenrick was super helpful and we always felt that whatever the challenge, he would be able to fix it/help out/get it done. Luckily, we never had to take advantage of road assistance, but we're sure that Kenrick would have taken care of it as quickly as he did with all our other inquiries."

"Just a quick note to give our praise to the way New Zealand Frontiers is taking care of business. We started our 21 days journey on New Year’s day 10 am, when all other businesses are resting, we were met by Kenrick just outside our central Auckland hotel. No problem with that. We got a nice sightseeing tour of the city ending with the spectacular view from Mt Eden. Then we went to Kenrick’s house in Papakura and had a nice chat about our plans for the journey over a cup of coffee. He then had really thorough briefing how to use a camper-van (us being beginners on both that and not used to left hand driving) and helped us book a camping place for the first night in Raglan. We drove 4800km, on both the North and South Islands. The van worked just fine all the way. The GPS went down on the last day but we got good maps in the van so there was no problem finding our way back to Papakura. We never had the need to call Kenrick for help but had that been the case, I`m sure he would have answered promptly as he did to some other people while we were introduced to the van on our first day. Were totally satisfied with our choice of New Zealand Frontiers for our first motorhome experience."

"This is a much smaller company than some of the major camper van suppliers. Kenrick, who owns the company, is a really approachable guy and incredibly knowledgeable about his country. The thing you get with smaller companies is customer service, and Kenrick has it in abundance. My wife and I had our 22 day honeymoon touring round New Zealand, and did over 5,500km in the Ford Transit, and whilst we had only two extremely minor incidents with starting the van (and I mean minor), we had no problems with the vehicle. Kenrick is always on the end of a free-phone number, and is straight on the case for all of your requests. It is great that you get to deal directly with the boss of the company, and if there are any problems you get a direct response knowing that it will be dealt with, rather than getting lost in the ether of a massive company. New Zealand is a fabulous country and if your budget and requirements are in line with New Zealand Frontiers costs and vehicles then I wouldn't think twice about going with them. Unlike my normal practice I never checked reviews or even checked out many of the other hire companies before booking. Why? Because of the honest approach and great information on the web site. It just seemed right and although in general this may not be the correct method this time it turned up trumps. Everything was as simple and straight forward as it possibly could be. Great personal service and an excellent van. A camper van is definitely "the" way to see New Zealand. Plenty of explanation and advice on arrival got us off to a flying start. When hiring campers before I've only ever got the briefest of introductions so this was a refreshing change. The van was plenty adequate for a month’s stay and nearly 6100km (3800 miles) of travel. The quality of our experience was top notch thanks to Kenrick and his incredible professionalism and genuine caring that we had a great time in his country using his vehicles. Kenrick understands the traveller, (I think he's a traveller at heart!) and does everything possible to create a comfortable and fun environment with his campers for them. Examples of this are the little things (creature comforts) such as no extra cost for a couple DVDs, Navman GPS, a safe, and our favourite, the Kruse Commentary. We arranged for Kenrick to pick us up at our hotel near the airport, and after a thorough orientation, we dropped Kenrick off at the office and we were off. My favourite part of our New Zealand Frontiers experience was the drop off. This again is where Kenrick showed how much he truly cared about our experience when he invited us into his living room for tea and coffee and a chat about our adventurers in New Zealand! "My wife and I hired a two sleeper from New Zealand Frontiers for 23 nights, from late March into April. I must say that we have never experienced customer service, anywhere in the world, like we did from Kenrick Mitchell. From the time we first made the enquiry in October 2011, his responses were prompt, helpful, insightful and often with a little humour in them. On arrival in Auckland he was at the airport to meet us and took his time in giving us a thorough briefing on the workings of the van and the road rules in New Zealand. Everything promised on the website was in the van, which was spotless. Despite having high mileage, the van ran faultlessly and we achieved close on 10km to the litre over the 5500km we did. Our discounted Interislander Ferry bookings done through Kenrick went without a hitch. We did experience a problem with the skylight and table locking mechanisms about two weeks into the trip, as well as the TV aerial, but it did not spoil our trip in any way. We have hired two sleeper motorhomes in Europe a number of times, from DRM, and like the extended chassis with the permanent bed, the huge amount of storage space, the permanent eating nook and swivelling front seats, as well as their sliding blinds (rather than curtains) on the windows and particularly the windscreen, which together with the swivelling front seats give an extended and practical living area at night. This style does not appear to be favoured in New Zealand and if you are used to it, you may be a little disappointed by the limited storage and living space of the two sleeper. We highly recommend New Zealand and doing it by campervan and you will not find a better and more personal service than New Zealand Frontiers."

"My husband and I rented a camper van from New Zealand Frontiers in March 2012. We highly recommend this company. The customer service was top notch. I reserved the van in October 2011 for our trip. It was very easy to communicate with the company via e-mail before our trip. Once there Mr. Mitchell delivered our camper van to our hotel. He gave us a very thorough explanation of how to operate the van and driving laws in New Zealand. He also gave us great recommendations on where to go and how much distance we could probably cover in a day. The camper van was very comfortable and well equipped. It was also easy to drive. "Absolutely loved the campervan. It handled extremely well, had lots of storage space, and the bed was very comfortable. The van came fully stocked with everything we needed, and we managed to store plenty of stuff in all of the various cabinets. We brought way too much clothing with us, so I'd recommend not over-packing. Even so, we had soft luggage, so we just stored it under the benches and only accessed it when we needed it. We had never been in a campervan before, so this was a great first experience. Once you get used to dealing with dumping the waste, filling the water, etc. it makes for a great home. We were able to travel to areas that don't have a lot of accommodation for tourists and still enjoy the area. Kenrick was great to work with, did a very thorough explanation of the van and lent us a book on hiking. The GPS storytelling device (can't remember the name) was actually really interesting and useful, and we missed having it on a later part of the trip when we rented a car. We would definitely rent with New Zealand Frontiers again. We felt very secure working with Kenrick and had no worries if something did happen (fortunately nothing went wrong)."

The van was immaculate, including kitchen equipment and was very well equipped, with unexpected extras such as DVDs, maps and guides. The fact that everything with Kenrick and New Zealand Frontiers ran so smoothly added to an exceptional experience in New Zealand. We travelled almost 6000k without any problem. As per previous comments we appreciated the personal service that Kenrick offered. The van was immaculate and equipped with everything we needed. The only small problem we had was the fridge stopped working but this was resolved by Kenrick and due to the slight inconvenience we were refunded for half a day. We would recommend New Zealand Frontiers to anyone. The only disappointment of our holiday was England’s performance in the Rugby World Cup but as wonderful as Kenrick is, even he could not have done anything about that!!!."

"We went on a seven week campervan trip to New Zealand for the rugby world cup. I went with New Zealand Frontiers as I had read good reviews on Trip Advisor and was so happy with their service. From the start Kenrick did all he could to help us have a great trip even inviting us for a cup of tea while he went through the formalities. He also spent time helping us with our route and giving us advice on places to see. When dropping us off to our cruise ship at the end of our trip he brought us on a quick detour to Mount Eden as we had missed it. My boyfriend left his Blackberry in the campervan and whilst most companies would post it or ask you to come and collect it Kenrick personally delivered it to us after we returned from our cruise. I'd highly recommend this small company who offer a great personal service over many of the larger ones."

"I have just returned from a two weeks holiday in North Island, New Zealand with my hubby. It was indeed a whole new adventure visiting New Zealand where we got ourselves a first time experience with a campervan ... 10 days of it! My hubby has not stopped expressing his good sense of choice for choosing a campervan from New Zealand Frontiers. Well, actually all the existing good reviews has certainly made sure of that! The friendly owner, Kenrick Mitchell was very punctual when he delivered the campervan right to the doorstep of our hotel in Takapuna. He was meticulous and thorough as he went through every detail that he personally felt would be important and useful for us from the terms and conditions of the rental to insurance clauses and the local road regulations. After briefing us on the handling and maintenance of the campervan, he even took us on a sightseeing drive around Takapuna, Mount Eden which was unfortunately closed that day and on to One Tree Hill. He was very accommodating that he went out of his way to send us to Sky Tower after we returned the campervan at our airport hotel. I would call his service first class and not forgetting, he makes a great tourist guide too! We even took up on his suggestion to drive along the Taihape Road and came out of there spellbound! If we decide to try a campervan adventure again in the South Island, we will not hesitate to knock on Kenrick's door."

"Recently we had a short (10 days) trip in a New Zealand Frontiers Motorhome. Our whole experience from the time of our first inquiry was nothing short of brilliant. Even though we were hunting for the best price and chopping and changing our minds several times, Kenrick was extremely courteous in all communications with us. Any questions we had were answered fully and the information that he gave us was excellent. We spent our time in the Northland and utilized a lot of what Kenrick suggested. The motorhome was in pristine condition when we were met at the airport and the orientation we were given was thorough and comprehensive. The vehicle never missed a beat as we travelled the 1600kms and we loved the complimentary GPS and especially the Kruse commentaries. The Kruse (we called it Kenrick) gave wonderful background information on the localities that we were entering and, on quite a few occasions, we followed his suggestions to take a deviation or stop at a particular spot. All in all we couldn't fault the service or the vehicle and next time we are back we will definitely be using Kenrick and New Zealand Frontiers."

"From the moment I first contacted Kenrick via email, his response was prompt, professional and very helpful - this continued throughout the dozen or so emails with me asking about 100 questions. We chose New Zealand Frontiers purely from the reviews that we had seen on this website. We really only wanted to see the South Island on our first voyage to New Zealand, but flew into Auckland just so we could use Kenrick's company. Kenrick arranged all of our ferry bookings (we changed the dates on him numerous times) for us and it was smooth sailing to say the least. Nothing was ever a problem for him. The motorhome itself was 'as new'. Kenrick really takes pride in his fleet and cares about providing top notch equipment along with superior service. Kenrick offers a very personal service. He meets you at the airport & goes through everything very thoroughly with you. Once again, I had a million questions which he patiently answered. A lot of people had told us that there wasn't much to see on the west coast and suggested going down the middle and then back up the east coast. I asked for some pointers from Kenrick and he advised us to definitely do the west coast (if you're into awesome landscapes) but make sure you work your way along the top of the island to the west coast and then head south. This was the best advice I got for the whole trip. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking (thanks Kenrick). On our arrival back in Auckland, Kenrick took us for a mini-tour of the city before dropping us at our hotel. It's things like this that really sets him apart from the others. I absolutely do not hesitate in recommending New Zealand Frontiers. We are planning another trip in two years to explore the North Island and will be calling on Kenrick's services again."

It was a great experience and we loved the freedom of being able to stay at DOC campsites if we chose. The motorhome had gas heating as well as air conditioning so it was nice being warm even when we didn't have power. The van was reliable, comfortable, easy to drive and park. The Kruse commentary (informative and timely as any we have experienced on coach tours) and Navman which were included in the rental price were extremely helpful. Even though we didn't use it, it was good to know that our toll fees were also included if needed. "When researching camper van hire for our trip to New Zealand I thought the wonderful on- line reviews too good to be true. But they turn out to be spot on. From the outset Kenrick Mitchell provided much useful advice and tips on how to make the most of our trip. One of his vans became our home for two months, taking us all over North and South Islands, covering almost 8000 km without a hitch. It provided excellent accommodation for two 60-somethings needing a comfortable bed after a hard day walking. I'm sure there are other top of the range companies who can provide equally good vans, but none to match Kenrick's professionalism, attention to detail, personal service and a genuine desire to have all of his clients leave New Zealand feeling good about his company and his country. "We checked Rankers.com from the UK and found New Zealand Frontiers campervans were rated very highly. From initial contact right through to returning the van everything went very smoothly. Kenrick Mitchell is a mine of information about New Zealand as well as the vans and sites they use. We booked and paid online and met Kenrick at Auckland airport where a very thorough guide to the van was conducted as well as providing us with many travel tips. The van was in excellent condition, was diesel and had a gear shift which I preferred as my wife was to be navigator. We had booked a couple of sites in advance and would highly recommend all those that we stayed at although the drier in the laundry at the Lindale Park site near Wellington needs replacing! We stayed on a big site in Hahei, right alongside the beach - an amazing experience. We had no problems with the van. The on board toilet and shower were brilliant as were all the little bits of equipment that had been so thoughtfully provided and gave great flexibility with stops and stays. We were met in Wellington by Kendrick who gave a small guided tour of the views and sites of the capital before his long drive back to Auckland. We also recommend that you stop off at National Park Station if you are going to Whakapapa campsite or down SH4. The cakes and other food are superb and the drive onwards to Wanganui down the long gorge is also a brilliant experience. We stopped often for views, an onboard cup of coffee and a sit in the sun beside the van on the chairs provided. We just could not recommend his company highly enough. The quality of the van just made our holiday so pleasant."

"We spent great 37 days exploring both islands. Our home was one of Kenrick’s camper vans. There is actually not much to add to the reviews already posted. The service is beyond expectations (we even had our camper van serviced in between due to squeaking breaks.) Everything went smoothly and easily just as you would like to have it on holidays. Well, the only thing that didn't work was Krause, but then again we only realised on the last day, so not really a big deal. Once again, thank you Kenrick for the great service and especially for bringing our forgotten stuff to the hotel in Auckland!"

"We’re an alto and a bass from Holland, happy to join the choir which is singing songs of praise for New Zealand Frontiers. After dozens of these songs there’s nothing really new to add here. Pickup at Auckland airport, introduction to the vehicle and “persuading” a refusing padlock of one of our bags: Kenrick made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. We had a wonderful 30 days on the North and South-island. The advantage of a small company became all the more apparent when we had a shattered window in one of the backdoors: impact from outside in an “unsealed environment”. According to Murphy’s Law this happened in Mavora Lakes Park, (Lord-of-the Rings location) late Saturday afternoon, beyond any GSM-coverage. Once we reached “covered surroundings” we phoned Kenrick. Having arrived at a Dunedin caravan park several hours later, we got a phone-call from Kenrick: an appointment on Sunday morning with a windshield-repair firm, 10 minutes from the camping grounds and no hassle with payment. We left the van in Christchurch airport were Kenrick awaited us, early in the morning at the drop-off in front of the departure building."

"We have just returned to Canada after touring the North Island in New Zealand for 10 days with a New Zealand Frontiers campervan and we were totally happy with everything about it. For two people it was the right size and contained everything we needed but the best and most comforting thing was knowing that Kenrick was at our beck and call. He answered two small issues (things we had not understood) immediately and we knew it was fine to call him at any time of need. He even picked us up from a flight at 4am!! We loved the smaller company as our friends had rented from a larger company and had major problems with air conditioning and it was days before help reached them. This company is also a bit cheaper so a win/win situation. So... go for it and rent from New Zealand Frontiers and you won’t be at all disappointed."

"Nearly a ten - 96% overall. Great service, van in excellent condition and with plenty of bits for comfort. Kenrick was very friendly and helpful and prepared to sort any problems. The couple of glitches were easily coped with although a thicker duvet for the cool late winter would have made it 100%. Nothing spoiled our experience of a really hospitable population - one campsite out of 19 was the exception. No hesitation in recommending the company, the vans or Kenrick. Never do it less well! "Having just returned from a motorhome holiday in New Zealand, we would highly recommend New Zealand Frontiers. This is a smaller company which gives attention to detail. The personal touch from Kenrick sets this company apart. He personally delivered our motorhome to Christchurch, he responded immediately to our e-mail following the earthquake which occurred when we were on the South Island, and he drove us to the airport when it was time for us to leave. On delivery he spent an hour with us going over the operation of the van and even provided detailed maps, holiday park locations, GPS and a Kruse commentary system. Our motorhome was in excellent condition and we had no problems throughout our trip. We are both tall but slept quite comfortably in this motorhome. It was wintertime and we had one very cold, windy night without a power hook-up and we used the propane heater throughout the night which kept us toasty warm. The GPS & Kruse commentary provided were very useful. We were really impressed with the cleanliness and the top quality items provided with our motorhome. We used the campervan to cook most of our meals and had everything we needed to do so, including good quality pots & pans, plates & cutlery, two kettles (one to use if you were only using propane and an electric one for when you had a power hook-up) and also a bodum to make coffee. This was our first time using a campervan and due to Kenrick's excellent explanations and attention to detail we had no problem figuring out how to refill the water and propane and empty the other tanks. We had a wonderful holiday in New Zealand and this is definitely the way to tour the country. We returned the campervan to Auckland, so it was very convenient for a short stay to be able to see some of each island with a one-way rental. We both decided we could enjoy travelling this way for an extended period of time. Thank you Kenrick for making our short holiday in New Zealand a great beginning."

"Our campervan was delivered to Wellington by Kenrick himself, a day earlier than planned, due to his advice to travel early the next morning to our first destination - Napier, at no extra cost. He then proceeded with the most thorough hand-over we have ever encountered. Then off we went!! Effortless driving and campervaning for twelve days. The van itself was a powerful Transit with everything included you could possibly want at no extra cost - GPS, Kruse, heaters galore, toll payments and an amazing bed etc. Amazing! We delivered the camper back to Kenrick at Auckland after covering 1700km. He offered us tea and was genuinely interested in hearing about our travels. Unfortunately, we then had to say goodbye to our lovely camper as Kenrick drove us to the airport! An amazing experience enriched by an amazing company."

"Hired a Transit campervan from New Zealand Frontiers and cannot rate both the customer service and the quality of the equipment highly enough. The van was in excellent mechanical order and gave miles (- kilometres!) of trouble free travel on both sealed and unsealed roads. It was also warm and comfortable in places where the temperatures fell during the evenings - thanks to the variety of heating options. (The air conditioning was the most frequently used option.) Kenrick, the owner of the business, could not have been more helpful and accommodating - especially since hiring start and finishing dates had to be changed several times, thanks to Iceland's volcanic activities. All charges, costs etc. were completely up front and very competitive. A highly recommended set-up all round. An experience which will be repeated in the not too distant future."

Then when we got to New Zealand he provided a thorough introduction to campervan life and advice on where to go. Our van was the perfect size for two and had everything we might need. "We were two couples hiring two campervans and we searched the internet and found New Zealand Frontiers. This is not the first time we have rented campervans as we hired in Australia the year before. How glad we did, this is a first-class operation--no question about it. Owner Kenrick is fully committed to ensuring that you have an absolutely wonderful experience his customer service is second to none. Kenrick was very professional in the way he answers emails immediately and courteously. Then, on the day we picked up the campervan, he took the time to explain every detail concerning the vehicle and how to operate it properly and even stored our suitcases while we were on holiday for the thirty days. "Like a lot of the reviewers we booked with New Zealand Frontiers after doing research on other people's experience of campervans. Our experience of using New Zealand Frontiers matched the reviews. Communication before collection was great, especially as it was a while before we knew where we'd be getting the van delivered to. It was absolutely immaculate inside and out. Very easy to drive and a comfortable base for our 23 day hire. Not having used a campervan before Kenrick's assistance in showing us round the van and demystifying the various inputs and outputs gave us the confidence that we'd have no problem with the practicalities of campervan life. The Kruse commentary and GPS as standard was really good too. "We chose New Zealand Frontiers for our holiday due to the excellent reviews given on Rankers and similar sites, plus the information supplied on the great New Zealand Frontiers site. Booking a holiday on the internet and being motorhome virgins, was a daunting prospect, but the reviews were spot on and everything about New Zealand Frontiers turned out to be first class. Throughout the quoting and booking stage it was obvious that New Zealand Frontiers had a professional approach and that our point of contact, Kenrick, was very efficient, enthusiastic and above all gave personal service. The attention to detail and personal service was also much in evidence in the handover of the motorhome, which was presented in fantastic condition and with a most detailed and methodical handover. As a result we commenced our motorhome holiday with a high degree of confidence in the vehicle and with a familiarity of its operation that belied our inexperience of motorhomes. We found the Ford Transit based two berth motorhome just right from both the driving and living experience, being the right size and power for the road with ample well laid out accommodation. We had a great holiday thanks to New Zealand Frontiers aided of course by the beauty of New Zealand. However, the true worth of a company is measured when the unlikely happens and unfortunately our holiday had to be cut short due to a family bereavement at home. Managing to get through to Kenrick on a week end for his assistance when most major businesses in New Zealand are closed was very comforting. New Zealand Frontiers were very supportive in all respects. We would highly recommend New Zealand Frontiers and will definitely book with Kenrick’s company again when we hope to return to see the rest of New Zealand."

"My wife and I just returned from a wonderful month-long trip to New Zealand. We had decided to do the trip by campervan and were confronted with an overwhelming variety of choices in van styles and companies. Based on user reviews we settled on New Zealand Frontiers run by Kenrick Mitchell and were thoroughly pleased with our choice. The van is just the right size for two, especially in a country with narrow curvy roads and the added challenge (for an American) of driving on the left. The economic advantage of diesel over gas was significant and we paid nothing extra for the numerous miles we travelled and were not limited to paved roads. The van itself was very comfortable and performed flawlessly throughout the trip. Two added features provided without charge that we found invaluable included a GPS unit for navigation as well as a GPS unit that gave the European and Maori history and tradition as well as the natural history of the areas we were passing through. Kenrick helped us plan the trip with suggestions about where to go and what to see and made reservations for us on the interisland ferry. When we arrived he picked us up at the airport and took us back to the airport at our departure. Had we encountered problems during our travels I am confident he would have come to our aid. We are happy to recommend New Zealand Frontiers without reservation."

"After doing some research into motorhomes, I came across the New Zealand Frontiers reviews. They were all positive and ranked higher than most well-known companies, so I checked out the website. It's very informative, no nonsense information. The initial contact requesting some additional info and a personalized quote went smooth as a feather. Turned out New Zealand Frontiers doesn't charge the apparent BS Diesel Tax, but do include unlimited miles, a Navman and a Kruse ( - like having a personal guide with you) for free. So after receiving a very competitive quote, I decided to go ahead and rent a van for 23 days in total. The company is run as a one-man operation by the owner, Kenrick. Very likable fellow who really knows what he's doing, and loves what he's doing. Upon arriving in Auckland, he will pick you up in the van from your hotel and take you back to the depot where the van and its functions are explained to you in detail. The van itself is kept in tip-top condition (Kenrick owns a total of six vans, he told me this way he could keep them in great shape) and is well laid out. Everything works, and is very straightforward. The van itself is a Ford Transit and was in perfect working order. I toured both islands for over three weeks and the van was just perfect. It didn't flinch once. Upon returning to the depot we had a nice chat about the holiday I just enjoyed and I was debriefed on the van's performance and taken back to my Auckland hotel. Kenrick knows how to run his business and customer satisfaction is a key element in it, and it shows. Very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting beautiful New Zealand. When I go back, I'll go with New Zealand Frontiers, no doubt!"

"After much research and comparing of prices and more importantly what you got for your money, we hit upon New Zealand Frontiers. Informative website, quick and detailed response and most importantly a very competitive quote. We had our van for 20 days and toured both islands with it. A highly professional service was provided by Kenrick from the initial emails, the personally delivered spotless van right to the drop off in Christchurch and calls in between. As we drove around both islands, what became apparent - apart from the stunning scenery and wildlife - was how good our van really was compared to most of the competition. One couple told us they had to request a second van from their large faceless company after the first one was brought round from the yard spewing smoke, engine spluttering it'd done so many miles. Happily Kenrick's vans are all fairly young and relatively low mileage. And because they are based on Ford Transit vans, they just keep on going! Equally because you know the owner, not just some corporate faceless company, you treat the van with more respect, driving it as your own. Above all the van was practical, had all the equipment we would ever need, drove well and provided plenty of space for both of us. The microwave and air-con in the cabin were particularly useful. We would not hesitate to use Kenrick and New Zealand Frontiers again. Even our native Kiwi relatives were impressed with the van, along with a number of favourable comments out on the road as well. In researching our choice, we used Rankers to find and decide on New Zealand Frontiers on the strength of other reports. We hope others find our thoughts useful and decide to use New Zealand Frontiers as well, providing they're not already booked!"

"We spent a long time researching our trip from the UK to Australia and New Zealand and Kenrick was a great help via email with our planning process, answering queries and booking sites for us. When we picked the van up it was spotlessly clean and Kenrick ensured that we, as novices to campervans, understood how everything worked before he set us on our way with instructions on how to find the supermarket (the van already had general cleaning materials and a toilet roll supplied) to stock up with provisions. Inside the van the bed was large and very comfortable and the shower surprisingly good. Storage, whilst not extensive, was OK - but we had a hard suitcase with us and there was no where to store it - we had to keep moving it around and it did get in the way a bit - the website does advise just to use soft bags - so if you can, leave the suitcase at home. I would have no hesitation in recommending New Zealand Frontiers and I would use them again."

"We found New Zealand Frontiers' webpage after extensive searching the WWW. New Zealand Frontiers’ page was clearly the best, very informative and well laid. The rental conditions were very good: fair cancellation fees, good rates, comprehensive insurance, with no fine print. While planning our trip we contacted a number of companies. The response from New Zealand Frontiers was without doubt the more complete, professional and friendly of all. We email Kenrick (New Zealand Frontiers’ owner) a number of times, and always got a quick, friendly and informative answer. So we choose New Zealand Frontiers for our 23 days trip, and as soon as we met Kenrick in Auckland we felt that we had made the right choice. He gave us a full explanation of the van, advice on the driving rules and a nice cup of coffee. We had previously rented motorhomes in several countries and this was the best pick-up experience of them all. The van offered by New Zealand Frontiers is the right one for a couple, in terms of size and layout. The van we got was not a brand new one, but it was spotlessly clean, very well maintained and in excellent condition. Very comfortable, easy to drive and park, and the fuel consumption was amazingly low. It was equipped with all we needed (and more), including maps, guides, GPS and the very interesting KRUSE audio guide. It is evident that a competent and caring person has paid attention to every single detail. We think no other company, big or small, can beat New Zealand Frontiers’ excellent personal service. Kenrick is extremely professional, and at the same time very friendly, making you feel that he is really interested in helping you to get the most from your trip. "Excellent. Our first holiday in a campervan was enhanced by the service we received from New Zealand Frontiers. From the time we first contacted Kenrick, quickly receiving informative answers, to dropping off the campervan in Christchurch, we were very pleased with the van. Kenrick met us with the van, changing the time to fit in with our arrangements and carefully introduced us to all the features of the campervan. The van was very fully equipped and drove easily, we were able to take the van on back roads, useful when birding! "Honestly, reviewers here are NOT paid to give New Zealand Frontiers 10/10 ratings! This little company really is this good. New Zealand Frontiers is a comparatively small outfit, with just a few handfuls of vans. The benefit for us the customers is that the service is extremely personal and attentive. We hired a two berth van for two weeks at the end of November 09 and even though the van was a little older, it became clear it was well looked after and in excellent condition. On arrival Kenrick picked us up at the airport and patiently introduced us to all features of the camper. The van had just been serviced but for some reason was leaking a little oil, so it had to be fixed over the next two hours. This did not delay us however as Kenrick dropped us to a supermarket to get supplies, and went through all the paperwork with us in the meantime. Once we had the van there were no problems whatsoever. This van came fully equipped, and we were surprised how easy it was to drive. The attention to detail was evident, nothing is left to chance here - you are practically ensured you're going to have a great and hassle-free holiday experience. Everything was working perfectly and water tank, diesel tank and gas bottle were filled. After a too short 14 days we dropped the van off in Queenstown, full of fabulous memories. Highly recommended; we think you get excellent service and peace of mind with New Zealand Frontiers."

"When we were looking for booking on line a campervan, we had fast, precise and personalised answers from New Zealand Frontiers. We had understood that it was a small company which wanted the success of its client's holidays. It is why we choose New Zealand Frontiers, and also for the all inclusive package and the very interesting cancellation fees. The campervan had many kilometres, but was in order, very clean fully equipped until small details (wine glasses ...) so as described. Its engine of 125 hp was very useful on mountains roads and with a small fuel consumption. On arrival, we had a friendly and professional welcome from Kenrick, with a large visit of Auckland. We spent two excellent weeks (Oct/Nov 09) in the North and South Islands. At the drop-off in Christchurch, Kenrick drove us in the most interesting parts of this agreeable town. "Wow, what else can I say about our experience with New Zealand Frontiers? From the moment we booked online, we realized we had made the right choice. The communication and information provided by Kenrick was top notch. We traveled with New Zealand Frontiers for two weeks in October, and it went very smoothly. From the pick-up in Auckland to the drop-off in Christchurch, it was as smooth as could be. Kenrick was great in showing all the aspects and features of the vehicle, and making sure it was absolutely clean when he picked us up. We were provided with everything we needed to enjoy the trip, including a great GPS based guide that talks to you as you travel through many parts of the two islands...we never listened to the radio or CD's as the guide provided much entertainment. The transit-van based camper was easy to drive, and never difficult to park and manoeuvre. When you'd see others trying to park their monster campers in parking lots or camper parks I was really happy we chose New Zealand Frontiers. When we come back...we'll be using them again, and I've already recommended them to a few people who have expressed interest in New Zealand. "We had a great time in our campervan trip to Northland. Kenrick's welcome at the airport and helpful advice got us off to a good start and although we were novices at this type of camping we adapted very quickly and appreciated the van's facilities, particularly the loo on cold nights! The layout was fine and the seats and bed especially good for two old crocks with bad backs. We made it right up to Cape Reinga and enjoyed all the sites we stayed on varying from DOC in the Far North to an island reserve for kiwis near Kerikeri where we were the only guests (alas no sight of any Kiwis but masses of other bird life. We would be very happy to recommend New Zealand Frontiers to any other couple as a small owner-operated firm which offers a very personal and friendly service."

"We have just returned from our three week honeymoon to New Zealand, which we spent travelling all over North and South Islands in our fantastic New Zealand Frontiers motorhome. We were absolutely thrilled with both the van and the service from Kenrick (the owner of New Zealand Frontiers) – from the first email to our last chat over a cup of tea just before being dropped at the airport we were really treated like valued customers. Kenrick met us at the airport with the (very clean) van and gave us a full explanation of how it worked, including all the dos and don’ts. Whilst we were confident that he would have been at the end of the phone had we needed to contact him, the van was reliable and we had no need. Despite being winter, we were toasty warm throughout due to the range of heating options we had in the van, and the bed really is incredibly comfortable. Everything you need is included in the van, all neatly stashed away so that there was plenty of room left for all our belongings. Although not a large company, New Zealand Frontiers offers a personal and friendly service that you just wouldn’t get from one of the big commercial firms. We would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone thinking about travelling New Zealand in a motor home - you won’t be disappointed!"

"The service from Kenrick and team was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. We became completely inseparable from "Van Damme" - it was decked out with anything you could possibly need in all scenarios. We spent half the time free camping and the rest in parks and the van was great for both. The bed was amazingly comfortable (as were the seats). It had plenty of grunt for the mountain roads and cost almost nothing in fuel. We unfortunately had someone ding the taillight towards the end of the trip but the insurance covered it no worries. If you are trying to decide who to rent a camper from, your search is over - you can't beat these guys!"

"My wife and I rented a New Zealand Frontiers camper van for 13 days, as part of a one month holiday Downunder. We were looking for a comfortable camper van which would take us from Auckland City to Christchurch - visiting as much as we wanted in between! Our specification was just for the two of us, in a camper van that provided something more than just a place to sleep. We wanted to cook, wash, store food and drive comfortably between places. What was of most importance was value in the product. Kenrick is the owner of New Zealand Frontiers campers, and is based in Auckland. You couldn't get a better service. Not only were we collected from the airport, we were given a full tour of the van, advice on the highway code in New Zealand and even a cup of tea! We were offered excellent advice! He allowed us to stay flexible with dates, until the last minute, organising our ferry crossing onto the southern island. Kenrick was always at the other end of the phone, should we have had any questions or problems. He went beyond what was expected of him and he has an attention to detail and cleanliness that you probably won't get to see in other, larger companies. Sure, you could ask for the cheapest vans out there but you will really get what you pay for. There are some that are an eye sore to the road and the countryside - that's why they have to defend themselves from their critics on their websites! New Zealand Frontiers campers are well placed to provide space for a couple. Strong, clean and reliable vans. You'll also be the fastest camper on the roads (if you wanted to!). We would also suggest getting Navman for tourists visiting for the first time and the Kruse commentary that is on offer....brilliant! We travelled a total of 2800km, visited some fantastic places and stayed at several lovely sites (many recommended by Kenrick). It was a holiday we'll never forget. Thank you New Zealand Frontiers!"

"We thought that this small company was excellent. From the time we made email contact, Kenrick made great efforts to smooth our arrival. The van was delivered exactly on time and in top condition. A lengthy explanation period followed, and to our delight there was a birthday gift in the fridge. We had a problem with the fridge after some rough roads, but a phone call to the man quickly set it right. Kenrick later compensated us for our worries without being asked. "It was a truly enjoyable experience renting our campervan from New Zealand Frontiers. Reading the fine print is important when renting a campervan. Some places take exorbitant deposits, charge insane fees, restrict what highways you can drive on, no unsealed roads, charge mileage fees disguised as taxes, pick up/drop off fees, etc. None of this nonsense with New Zealand Frontiers. Calls and questions were answered promptly and rates were clear and obvious. Kenrick Mitchell met our 5am arrival flight, showed us the van and was a real pleasure to work with. The van was in good shape and performed great for our two week 3000km trip around the North Island. The complimentary Kruse audio commentary was a real joy. It pointed out details and sights we would have missed and really helped make the driving portion of the trip much more enjoyable. The huge bed was fantastic. The self contained services allowed us to camp at sites with no services for two days and see more of New Zealand instead of different holiday parks every night. New Zealand Frontiers was a first class operation and a real pleasure to work with."

"My wife and I have recently returned to the UK after the most fantastic holiday in New Zealand. We selected New Zealand Frontiers for our campervan after an Internet search. Our initial enquiry received a prompt and comprehensive response from Kenrick and our subsequent queries were handled in a thoroughly professional, friendly and courteous manner. On arrival in New Zealand we were met as promised, given an impromptu but very welcome tour of Auckland and thoroughly briefed about the vehicle and driving in New Zealand. The campervan was immaculately presented and was equipped with satellite navigation and Kruse audio guide so we not only knew where we were but learned much about the countryside and its history and culture as we travelled. As this was our first time in New Zealand we did not really know how long we would want to spend in North or South Island. This was no problem for Kenrick who arranged our ferry bookings in response to a phone call. The campervan proved to be easy to drive, economical on fuel and comfortable to live in with all mod cons. The layout was ideal with internal access from cab to living area being particularly useful. We had a great time exploring New Zealand and on several occasions travelled over unsealed roads - taking advantage of the enhanced insurance cover which New Zealand Frontiers provide. We are determined to return again to New Zealand but one thing we will not have to worry about is our choice of campervan provider - only New Zealand Frontiers will do."

"This was our first experience motorhoming but our experience with New Zealand Frontiers has turned us into converts. The van was slightly older than we expected, but any reservations were short lived when we saw the quality and cleanliness of the interior. The mechanical performance of the van could also not be faulted despite its age. Kenrick's personal service is excellent. This was demonstrated both in the initial meet and familiarisation with the van at the airport, and prompt resolution of a couple of issues we experienced with the van during our stay - one which involved Kenrick personally travelling to Thames to meet us with a spare part. "What a great company to deal with! We were initially impressed with the website and all follow up questions we had were answered promptly and in detail. The hire rate was very competitive and there were not as many limitations as other companies. Before the date of hire we were kept up to date with reminders and info. We were picked up as scheduled with a very clean and well equipped campervan as advertised. After a complete overview of how everything worked on our campervan, we were on our way to a great seven week holiday. We kept in contact with Kenrick via email during our travels and he responded with very helpful info on sites to see and things to do. We did have battery problems, but were on our way with a new battery within a couple of hours. After almost 8,000 km, we returned the campervan and did not have any surprise extra charges (in fact, we were even reimbursed for a couple of small campervan items we purchased). "As a newly labelled experienced "Frontiersmen" with 9,100 km in two months, piloting a super clean, fully equipped fuel efficient Ford diesel campervan, we were thrilled to have connected with Kenrick Mitchell's New Zealand Frontiers website. We wanted the simplicity of an all-inclusive package, adjusted monthly rental rates, insurance package, North and South Island ferry bookings, van delivery at friend's home and drop off at airport. "Before embarking on a round the world trip we researched the net for a campervan company in New Zealand who would deliver the van to us in Auckland and collect in Wellington. Whilst being experienced caravanners in the U.K. we knew nothing about campervans and being over six feet tall, were concerned about headroom and bed size. The availability of campsites, fresh water and waste disposal were all things we were unsure of until we found New Zealand Frontiers in the guise of Kenrick. His calm, efficient and above all friendly manner set us at ease; all our apprehensions were quickly dealt with and at our meeting in Auckland our first sighting of our campervan was of an immaculately turned out vehicle equipped to a very high standard, and complete with everything we could possibly need to complete what turned out to be a 2623km long journey round the North Island. The information on the operation of the van itself was comprehensive and coupled with that on campsites, where to visit and what to do in an emergency laid all our previous apprehensions to rest. We left not even concerned should we encounter any emergency because we knew that a phone call to Kenrick would have sorted the problem, a very comforting thought. The van was easy to drive, my wife loved driving it, and when our trip was over Kenrick flew down to Wellington to collect the van but before departing on the eight hour drive back to Auckland, took us on a guided tour of some of the highlights of Wellington that we’d missed. When next we return to New Zealand, New Zealand Frontiers will be our first point of call and we’ll probably keep hold of the campervan for both the North and South Islands."

In my dreams I would be back tomorrow, I toured for two months from Auckland to Wellington via the East Coast, around the north of the South Island, down the east coast, up central through the Lindis Pass, the high country back to Nelson via Hanmer where I unexpectedly found a cousin, experienced a second mill pond crossing then up the west coast back to Auckland. "We were fortunate to find New Zealand Frontiers when all the better known companies had no vans available. Meeting other travellers in campgrounds, we had by far the best van. Owner Kenrick Mitchell has thought of everything, from wineglasses to clothesline and pegs. The van was spotless, just the right size, well powered and had great features like hot water always ready and high level storage. Kenrick's service was faultless. He waited two extra hours for us to emerge from the depths of the airport while we dealt with lost luggage. We were given maps and guidebooks, had the ferry booked for us and Kenrick had personal suggestions based on his extensive travels and obvious love of New Zealand. He helped us with driving tips since we had never driven on the other side of the road. He was available if we had any issues during our trip and even dropped us off at our hotel when the trip was over. He had lots of maps, and information on campsites, etc. in the vans for us. The vans are extremely clean, everything worked and we just had a wonderful experience with him and the van. "51 days in a New Zealand Frontiers campervan in 2008. Could not fault the experience or the campervan. Booked on the internet from the UK. More than lived up to our expectations and hopes. Owner was extremely efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Picked up at the airport and delivered back. Fully briefed about the van before we started our journey. The van was fully equipped and cleaned. Everything worked. Extra bedding and towels provided on request. Lots of extras also provided - maps and tourist information, all cleaning equipment and two glasses for tasting the fine wine. Can thoroughly recommend this company. Go and see New Zealand and have a great time."

"My wife and I spent two weeks touring both islands in one of these clean and well-maintained campervans. What a great experience! Of course, the country was amazing, but there was no better way to see it than by RV. And I don't think there is any better campervan operation than New Zealand Frontiers. "I ran and drove all over New Zealand for nearly two months and upon returning my camper van to New Zealand Frontiers, owner Kenrick Mitchell even greeted me with mail I'd had delivered to his residence since I had no New Zealand postal delivery address. I doubt another company would do such a thing. My camper van had all the amenities I required, was clean, and was in excellent working order. "Couldn't be faulted. Efficient from start (enquiry / booking from UK) to finish (drop off at airport). We had five weeks Feb-Mar 2007 and did 6000km. Van was seriously well cleaned, adequately fitted / powered and ran well throughout (unlike some others encountered on our travels). Comprehensive information pack in van and thorough induction at airport on arrival. Kenrick, who runs the outfit, was welcoming and professional (New Zealand customer service is second to none) and, if you're interested, able to offer insights into many aspects of Kiwi life, not just the tourist stuff."

"Small is beautiful – a small organisation who take great care of their vans and who offer a quality personal service. We hired a New Zealand Frontiers campervan for a month in January 2007 and it really made our holiday. The freedom to stay in the DOC campsites miles from town but with all the facilities ‘onboard’ means that you can walk in some of New Zealand’s most beautiful places and then stay the night. We didn’t want to come home! "

"We were so impressed we offered to buy into the company! We found Kenrick through his very professional website. It contained factual and accurate information with a human touch. There was no flannel or bull. His prices were reasonable and the van was ideal for us. From the first e-mail Kenrick was the epitome of what I want from someone in his business. He arranged all aspects of the hire and then met us off the plane at Auckland airport. By the time he let us lose on the streets of New Zealand we knew how everything worked and had been given so much good advice that we knew we had chosen the right company. Unfortunately, 10 days later, our van suffered a major electrical fault at Greymouth. Within an hour the van was in the garage, we were on a train to Christchurch and a new van was waiting at the other end. This was all sorted by Kenrick and with tremendous efficiency. Our van was then returned to us several days later. The test of a good company is how they deal with problems and our experience with Kenrick couldn't have been better. I recommend him to my friends when they mention going to New Zealand and will continue to do so. We left New Zealand the richer for the experience and having gained a friend. Don't use the big firms use this one as he actually cares about the service he provides and the people he rents to."
